The Japanese Institute of Sawtelle (JIS) is a nonprofit, community organization serving the Sawtelle area of West Los Angeles.

The JIS includes over a dozen organizations, including the Japanese Language School (Sawtelle Gakuin), local churches, youth sports, Boy Scout Troop 39, and the West Los Angeles chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League.
